 In accordance with the World Space Week 2010 and the 45th anniversary of Himpunan Mahasiswa Astronomi (HIMASTRON) ITB, HIMASTRON ITB coordinated a event titled: Khatulistiwa : Astronomi Indonesia Dulu, Kini, dan Esok. This event will be held on 2 to 7 October 2010. There will be a various activities during this event and several great speakers in many science fields were invited to give a talk.
The series of activities which will be held are:
- Grand Talk Show : Astronomi dan Indonesia (Saturday, 2 October 2010)
- Talkshow : Global Warming vs. Global Cooling (Saturday, 2 October 2010)
- Public Lecture : Mitologi Konstelasi (Monday, 4 October 2010) and Exoplanet and Life (Tuesday, 5 October 2010)
- Solar Observation (Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday; 2, 4, and 5 October 2010)
- Night Observation (Monday – Thursday, 4 – 7 October 2010)
- Photo, Painting, and Poster Exhibition
- Astrokids
There will be six telescopes, each equipped with solar filter for the solar observation and there will be two telescopes for the night observation. In both activities, public may come and do the astronomical observation as the astronomers do. The observations are totally free of charge. “So far (27/09/2010), the overall preparations for the event are exceeding 80%,” said Prahesti Husnindriani (AS08), the general organizer of the event.
