Bandung International Summer School in Astronomy (BISSA) 2009

In Conjunction with the International Year of Astronomy (IYA) 2009, Astronomy Graduate Program & Astronomy Research Division, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) proudly present the 1st Bandung International Summer School in Astronomy (BISSA) 2009! It is a two-week program that brings a wide range of people interested in Astronomy from all over the world to gain knowledge and experience in a beautiful city of Bandung, Indonesia.

The course will comprise topics in:

  • Cosmology and Galaxy
  • Solar System
  • Stellar Physics

Goals of BISSA 2009

BISSA 2009 has goals that are:

  1. To provide participants with an experience of learning and living in a multicultural environment in Bandung, the hosting city
  2. To provide participants with the insights on subjects within Astronomy which will hopefully be their choice for further research
  3. To speed up knowledge sharing and create a knowledge sharing community
  4. To create bonding among students from all over the world
  5. To create further relationship between ITB and other universities and/or schools from which the participants come
